DONATION TO OKAYAMA INOCHI NO DENWA KYOKAI

Kurashiki City, June 1, 2022:
Will Partners, in line with its management vision of “aiming to realize the SDGs through our work,” has decided to make a donation to Okayama Inochi No Dennwa Association (FIND), a general incorporated association under the jurisdiction of Mr.Shigeo Horii, President of Jikei Hospital, Jikei Kai Foundation, to be donated to the Okayama Inochi No Dennwa Association. We are pleased to announce that we have donated a part of the proceeds from our business activities to Okayama Life Phone Association, a social welfare corporation under the jurisdiction of Jikeikai Jikeikai Foundation (President of Jikeikai Hospital).
As long as we continue our business activities in the future, we will continue to contribute to the “realization of decent work,” which is one of the goals of the SDGs.

What is Inochi no Denwa
The “Inochi no Denwa” (Telephone of Life) program began as a telephone counseling service for suicide prevention in London, England, in 1953.
In Japan, a German missionary, Ms. Lutz Hettkamp, was the main organizer, and in October 1971, the first telephone counseling service by volunteer counselors was launched in Tokyo, Japan.
In 1977, there were only five Inochi no Denwa centers in Japan, and the Japan Inochi no Denwa Federation was formed to play a central role in the nationwide development of this citizens’ movement.
History of Okayama Inochi no Denwa
Okayama Inochinochi no Phone opened on April 14, 1984, and has received nearly 20,000 calls a year.
Each call was a cry from people facing various crises in various situations.
Today, Okayama Inochi no Denwa is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by approximately 180 volunteers who take turns answering multiple calls for advice.
